By LIN Beichen

Eight of our PhD and master’s students joined over 10,000 walkers from across the country at a fundraising walk on Nov. 26th, 2016 to raise cash for children in remote mountainous regions. The 26km walk started at Yuanboyuan Square in Jimei District, ran through Citizen Square, Xinglinwan Reservoir, and ended back at the start point.

Our students, taking part in the "Super Warm-blooded" Square, split into two teams led by WANG Na (Master’s student) and LIN Beichen (PhD student) respectively. Braving wet weather, they helped and encouraged each other during the walk, and finally finished the 26 Km journey in approximately 6.5 h with passion and pride.

The annual “Yi Lu, Chun Yue” charity walk was co-held by Fujian Province Youth Development Foundation and Swire Coca-Cola Beverages Xiamen Ltd. The event already raised 890,000 RMB up to Nov. 25th, 2016. The donation will go to the children in remote mountainous regions of Fujian for water purification facilities.
